Rumor has it that Peter Forsberg will be retiring from the NHL. What a sad moment that will be.
I guess that just makes me think how lucky we were to get to see such an amazing player.
I remember arguing with the Chicago meatheads back in 1997 (?) and telling Glen that I thought Forsberg was the best player in the world. I sounded like an AVS homer, but it was hard not to notice how the game changed when he had the puck.
I think he is a Hall of Famer but there will always be debate based on his lack of statistics. It is too bad that he was so un-stereotypically European and played such a physical game, as it undoubtedly shortened his career.
Regardless, what a pleasure to watch the guy play!
