Reminder....

......bring money to the next game!

First goal of the spring 2009 season.....

Goes to this tons of fun - # 13 The Tripod! Thankfully ending a long drought!

Ask the STEAMER?

Yes, our popular new feature taking the Internet by storm - "Ask the Steamer!"

Q: Dear Steamer - I think your team is so hot. Further, I can not help but be amazed by the chemistry and artistry you guys display on the ice. How do you put it all together?

- Candi Trampenstein - Port St. Lucie, FLA

A: Candi - thank you for your kind words, and that is a great question. Well, we are here to inform and make our fans happy. I think if you watch the video below, you will be both!

Another new feature? Wow! The Naughty Moment

Yes, to take your mind off of that last bit, we wanted to introduce you to another new feature. Extensive polling has really zeroed in on our BlOG's target demographic. Further research has indicated that while the knowledge we drop is better than old-school print mags like Maxim and FHM, they are doing better than us why? Because they show chicks.

So to even up the score, a new feature has been added - the Naughty Moment:

NHL 08-09 goal of the year - candidate # 10 - Niklas Hagman

Watch this beauty as the Leafs forward fights off adversity - a hit from the ref, a knee to the head, and a puck to the head - before scoring this fantastic goal.

The new sweaters continued...

I know, it had been like a year since we got new jerseys, so here we go again. Check out the team, and Kris Kringle modeling the new black jersey.

Standing: Sgt. Schultz, Chowder Storm, Tripod, The Professor, K-Pax, Harlan Pepper, and Slim Shady. Kneeling: The Howitzer, Chub Rock, E5, Bullitt, and Kris Kringle - fresh off a nice 3-1 win in the first game of the Spring season.

Top 10 moments in Anthem-Booer history!

Let's get right on this one. And really, it is hard to beat a week when the Flyers, Rangers, and Anthem-Booers all meet their playoff demise. On the Yahoo site and, the Puck Daddy Blog had this tremendous good-bye to the Habs.

But on to # 8 (the music video) - since I missed it previously (the ghost of Cam Neeley I'm sure) - check out what Puck Daddy called an embarrassing music video right here! I doubt Steve Perry likes hockey, but the guy is rolling over in his own grave.......and he's not even dead yet!

A new service - Ask The Steamer!

As you know we have a plethora of inquisitive soles among our massive international viewership. These fans of ours have come to realize that we really are experts in several categories - things like guy stuff, drinking, abbreviated intercourse, hockey, and other crucial issues.

So as our staff has been getting inundated with fan mail and questions calling on our intellect and savvy, we have decided to open up a new feature called "Ask the Steamer!" At least monthly, we will have Blog staff (like the ones pictured) answer questions from our devoted readers. So without further delay......
Dear Steamer -

My favorite team, the Atlanta Thrashers, did not make the playoffs again this year. So, who should I root for in the playoffs?

Monty Von Gobble, Hot-lanta, GA
Monty -
This question is so obvious it almost shocks the senses. But since you are from what is arguably the worst sports city in the USA, we will help you! Please follow this link and watch all 3 videos and all of your questions should be answered!

Things that amuse me - part 11

Does Sulu sound sort of like Saku Koivu?

Top 10 moments in Anthem-Booer history!

# 5 - I was worried about hair loss!

Sure, Joe Ted's initial test said he was taking a steroid masking agent, but if you've seen his glove hand, it's hard to imagine that he has taken performance enhancing drugs. Hey-oh! The claim was that he took it to deal with hair loss.......

Anyway, this article illustrates the mad confusion. While he played like crap in the first game of the playoffs tonight - he has "allegedly" banged Paris Hilton and he did stop a freak show Canadiens fan (I know, redundant) as you may have seen in this clip.

Welcome back....

.....to #9 - K-PAX. We meant to say this sooner, but fogot.......anyway - read the title!

NHL 08-09 goal of the year - candidate # 9

Last year Blake Wheeler was a nominee for goal of the year while he was still at the University of Minnesota. This year as a rookie wing for the Boston Bruins Wheeler had a bonanza (getting you ready for the Rockies and the bachelor party) of a goal with this short-handed marker against the Blues.

The new Boone mascot

Last Thursday in Washington DC, at the Lincoln Memorial, staff from the always brilliant "Let's Go DU" Hockey Blog presented the new "unofficial" Denver Pioneers Boone mascot. One of our staff was in attendance to capture this quality photo of our new hero.On an amusing side note, I heard the following conversation:
Child "I want to get my picture with that pirate!"
Dad: "I'm not sure that's a pirate?"
Mom: "I don't know what that thing is!"

NHL 08-09 goal of the year - candidate # 8

Florida Panthers forward Richard Zednik - he of the terrible neck injury from a skate last season - scored a beauty against the Islanders. Enjoy it here.

Things that amuse me - part 10

Congrats!

To this Winter seasons co-scoring champions. Both Harlan Pepper and Chipendales pitched in 22 points over the 12 game season. E5 pitched in 16 and The Professor had 12.
For goals - HP had a team leading 17, Chip added 13, E5 had 7 and Prof had 6. HP led with 3 hat tricks and 2 GWG.
For helpers - E5 and Chip had 9, Bada Bing had 7 and The Prof, Tripod (really ?) and NGS had 6. Chip had 1 "playmaker."
For Star of the Game points it was: HP with 27, Chip with 23, E5 with 19, Chub Rock with 16, The Prof with 12 and Sgt. Schultz and Kris Kringle with 10.
Nice work one and all - and I heard the Milo's wait staff was also excited for some of us

Rules in Life # 11 - Stop fighting Lucic

Although I did see Pierre Lacroix's first draft pick - 1994 Quebec first rounder - Wade Belak, get the better of Milan Lucic recently, this guy just crushes people. Here is his very recent, and very short, fight against Josef Melichar.

# 6 - They should have called him "The De-Flower!"

As this article indicates, during his son's sex assault trail last summer, it was learned that Guy drove his 23 year-old son to hotels to spend the night with his 16 year-old girlfriend. The police issue a warrant for # 10, and now he is suing the police for "tarnishing his reputation."

Yeah, that was it, the warrant, not the pimping and pandering! Stay classy San Diego!
