Props galore......

..........to # 47, Jason "nutty novocaine lovin' brutha" Ketchum for winning the Milan Hejduk trophy, the overall STEAMER scoring title, and the 3 Stars of the game points cup (huh ?).

This Spring Jason was named a star of the game (or post-game) six times in ten games. He also put up 24 points - 13 goals and 11 assists - in those 10 games.

Congrats.........

NHL Goal of the year - Jordan Staal?

Another beauty from Penguins Rookie Jordan Staal.

Does it scare anyone that three of this years choices are from Penguins under 20 years of age?

Candids of the players......# 9

As a young girl she had dreams of trains and playing hockey.

On defense, # 21, Allison "The Conductor" Borg!

A beauty of a bench clearer!

Crazy hockey fight from that 1987 World Juniors Tournament - referenced in the article below. This is a good one.

Editorial # 12 - a good mocking of Count Chocula

A pretty amusing read about the NHL Draft. I like this article because he re-submits the theory made previously - that Chub has been espousing for years - that David Stern sent Bettman to the NHL because he is such a turd-burglar. Enjoy..........

Take this hockey quiz?

This quiz explains what sort of player you are - sort of interesting.

Candids of the players......# 8

Right Wing - # 11 - Big Bizzness -comes to the bench after a tough shift. He then reflects back on his younger days when he pitched for the Cleveland Indians under the pseudonym Paul Assenmacher.

NCAA follow-up

I apologize for my delay in celebrating the fact that neither North Dakota nor Minnesota won the National Championship this year. So, we bring you the infamous Tyler Hirsch video from the Spring of 2006.

This is his bizarre reaction after a Minnesota loss. He left the team shortly afterwards for "personal reasons." The "issues" were not typically attributed to the wearing of the # 23 like on some teams - and he returned to the team for 2006-2007. He was later dismissed from the team in that typical secretive Gopher fashion for "undiclosed reasons." Enjoy the madness!

Other hockey venues....part 5...

Lovely Toronto and the Hockey Hall of Fame. Yes, it is in a mall, they have bubble hockey, and there are two Stanley Cups - by the way.

Clockwise from bottom: Bizz, Tony, Tripod, Shot Pimp, Double Down, and the Chub.

Chub is pointing out the Avalanche and I can neither confirm nor deny reports that Frank grew that moustache to star in "an alternative adult motion picture production" while in Toronto.

Candids of the players......# 7

Ironically - # 7 - Right Wing - Frank Ingham!

The DU logo debate - bring back Boone?

The debate is probably best described here.
A quality analysis between the two is here.
A less funny analysis is here.

Rules in life - # 8

Jessica Alba is my type.

Oh that's right, she's everyone type.

Kind of makes me want to shop for gear at "Oh My Ian's."

NHL Goal of the year - Horton?

Another fine choice - Florida Panther - Nathan Horton - the best part of the video - in my opinion - is the juice he still gets on the shot. I never thought a # 16 could shoot that hard - except for that puck Chowdah Storm wired onto our bench on the PK last week.

Player Profile - # 5 - Eric Skarda

Name: Eric Skarda
Position: Center
#: 5
Why?: I think it is a tribute to a friend of his that went into the marine corps.
Nickname: E5, The Jedi.
How we know him: He is Bizz's nephew.
One scout said: Excellent skater, very fast, especially laterally. Very hard, under-rated shot and streaky scorer with multi-goal ability. Good two-way center and strong on face-offs.
Game reminds you of: Pavel Datsyuk - C - Detroit Red Wings; Andy McDonald - C - Anaheim Ducks.
Best line on the ice: "God dammit Joe!" - several times, most famously after Joe hit the post on a one-timer off the face-off play.
You may not have known: Eric played college baseball briefly at Creighton and Regis. He also drew the white jersey logo and all of the golf tournament t-shirt designs.
Thanks for: Always being willing to play hockey any time, any place. Carrying the team offensively for several seasons. All the artwork. And the willingness to talk puck, drink post-hockey beers and give that occasional ride home.
