Combinations...part 2

The Star Wars Line (l to r): RW - Chewbacca; Center - The Young Jedi; LW - Obi One-Piece Composite.

Player Profile - # 30 - Brian Eloe

Name: Brian Eloe
Position: Goaltender
#: 30
Why?: Tribute to Marty Brodeur.
Nickname: Chub; Chub Rock.
Why?: A reference to his first bachelor party and the ensuing stimulus reaction.
How we know him: His first job as a youngster was working for Bizz (Big Brian). Then moved into "Camp Corona" with Joe and Bizz.
One Scout said: Very competitive and fiery in net. While not a big keeper, he plays the angles very well and almost always makes the first save. Excellent glove hand.
Game reminds you of: Jocelyn Thibault - G - Buffalo Sabres.
Best line on the ice: "I'll see you in the parking lot asshole!"
You may not have known: Chub is the lead singer in his band and has been recorded on two CDs. Developed almost all of the graphics for the Altitude Network that you see during AVS games.
Thanks for: Agreeing to play goal when we were in a bind. Selflessly took over the toughest and most important position.

Other hockey venues....part 2...

Adam, Frank and Joe at Magness Arena - the home of your back-to-back NCAA Champion Dever Pioneers - November 2003.

Editorial # 1 - Why?

How on earth are Peter Forsberg and Milan Hejduk not playing together? How does Pierre Lacroix keep Rob Blake and let Foppa leave (to Philly, no less)? Stop the madness! Why? Why? Why? --- Nancy Kerrigan

The Big Bear Bar...

...when it was still open. I'm sensing a pattern here. Not surprisingly, the last five patrons are: a psychotic goaltender; a hatchet-man of a defenseman; a lifestyle-challenged defenseman; a quasi-Euro center; and a lumbering left wing. "When is the real last call?"

Out for some beers....

Left to right: Joe W, Adam, Rick, Frank, Chub, Houston Adam, Bizz, Eric, and Pete.

Combinations...part 1

Irish Car Bombs - half pint (8 ounces) of Guiness Stout, and one shot of Jameson's Irish whiskey and Bailey's Irish Cream (a shillelagh). Drop the shot in the beer and chug.

Review:
BRILLIANT!

Player Profile - # 9 - Adam Devoe

Name: Adam Devoe
Position: Defense
#: 9
Why? The number he has always worn in sports.
Nickname: The Voe; DeVomez; Queen LaSleepa; K-PAX.
How we know him: Adam went to law school with our friend Rick at CU. Rick went to college with Frank and another friend of the group, Glen. We then met Adam through Frank and Rick.
One scout said: Extremely versatile, can play any position. While he does not have any particular skill set in which he is excellent, he is very good at all of them. Good skater, who has a very underrated wrist shot, and is an excellent defensive centerman.
Game reminds you of: Kevin Bieksa - D - Vancouver Canucks.
Best line on the ice: "Hey Shitbag, it's 9-2!" To an opposing defenseman taking slapshots with 2 minutes left while we got pounded.
You may not have known: Made the State tournament in golf in High School. Originally from Indiana and went to the Air Force Academy for a while. Has his private pilots license. Recently won his age group in a Fort Collins triathalon.
Thanks for: Being the one who got us started. He set up beginning skating and Hockey 101 and was the catalyst that began STEAMER.
