Top 25 movies of all time - # 13
Since we are at # 13, and that is a great number, time to start getting serious. Except for this movie. Swingers was a classic movie for a variety of reasons. Sure there is only one short hockey scene, but it prompted the (like Guinness) 'brilliant' line: "I took the Kings to the Cup." "Yeah, against the computer with the off-sides off." Here is he scene:
It seemed especially amusing to Chub, Bizz and I because when the movie came out, we were basically living that lifestyle. Hell, Glen is still called "Double Down" based on his similarities to the character Trent. And admit it, the multiple phone call scene is like an accident - you have to watch it. I saw that scene win a poll for toughest move scene to watch (it beat Kevin Costner trying to reach the green in two in "Tin Cup").
But really, just another quality movie with an appreciated hockey reference. And hey, it prompted this video:

This kid again, he's 10 now!
Rumor has it this kid turned his life around after getting some words of wisdom from a beer hockey player after a game. Who doesn't think that is effective? Anyway, Oliver Wahlstrom again!
