First goal of the Winter 2009 season....

....goes to Chippendale's. Now get out there and get some elbow pads and start looking at composite sticks for god sakes!

NHL 08-09 goal of the year - candidate # 4

The kid picked just after Sidney Crosby is starting to look like the real deal in the NHL. Bobby Ryan with this dazzling goal for the hat trick!

Things that amuse me - part 8

For all of the Facebook trollers out there - you know who you are - this may come in handy at some point:

Apology?

So, one of our massive throng of international readers left me a very mean comment on this top-rated BLOG just the other day. I think they were mad about my list of the 15 most hated players in the NHL.
Our crack blog staff and I always welcome discussion about such topics. The comment, however, seemed mad that we incorrectly dubbed that non-stop-charmer Chris Chelios, as an I-talian. We apologize for this mis-label as he, amongst other things, is Greek. Let us extend an olive branch of sorts as an apology.......

NHL 08-09 goal of the year - candidate # 3

Yes, again this cultural sensitivity trampler with a great goal. OK, I'm kidding, but he did play for the North Dakota Fighting Sioux before he played for the Chicago Blackhawks. Anyway, Jonathan Toews with this absolute beauty against the Red Wings.

Fall scoring champion...

....and the winner is...........shocker - Harlan Pepper! Looking very Swedish, this Mats Naslund fan led the STEAMER in goals with 12 (E5 and Chip had 7, Prof with 6, T-Pod and Bada with 5, NGS and Chowdah with 4); assists with 11 (E5 had 10, Dieter with 7, Prof and Slim with 5); and obviously points with 23 in 12 games.

HP also led in Star of the Game points with 27. Chub had 22, E5 with 21, Bada Bing with 17 and Chippendale's and the Natural Goal Scorer had 13.

Holy Schnikeys!

A beauty from the pre-tournament exhibition games for the World Junior tournament. Eventual tournament MVP, and next years # 1 NHL draft pick, John Tavares, scored this spectacular goal.

Who knew....?

...that Mike missed the first game to promote his new hockey gloves for Mission? We all anxiously await the "hockey toe socks!"

Love the B's, Stars are turds!

Who says Jack Edwards is a homer? Well, any objective person. Regardless, we are overdue for some more Bruins love! Enjoy this diatribe from the game against the Dallas Stars and their punk-laden line-up!

Seantor scoring to improve?

Mike Fisher, and his Ottawa Senators, are having a tough season on the ice as they struggle and he is a -12.

But off the ice? Carrie Underwood! Nice work Mike, way to make everyone who wears those colors proud! I'd type more if I wasn't weepy!

Casino Night?

I can tell by their hats that these are two "Blackjack" experts. Who knew Big Bear had a "Casino Night?"

Nice Hat!

Yes - this improbable Hat Trick from Minnesota State's Zach Harrison was a nice way for him to start the NCAA season.
