EA Sports NHL 99

EA Sports NHL 99 was a great video game with an even better highlight-laden introduction.
As usual, the link is in the title.

The DU Orange and Lemon game

The Seniors from the 2005 Denver University National Championship hockey team.

They also took part in a long-standing DU hockey traditio of the lemon and orange game.

NHL Goal of the Year - Ales Hemsky?

Amazing ending to a game between the Stars and Oilers, thanks to Ales Hemsky.

NHL Goal of the Year - Eric Cole?

From earlier this year against "our" beloved Bruins. Proof that there is no substitue for speed.

As usual, the link is in the title.

Pics from the playoffs...# 3

The Ingham brothers - back on defense together again.

Reminder that Pierre Lacroix is a total package sniffer!

Yeah, it would have sucked to have him finish his career here! A video of an insane Forsberg play.

The Ohio State University?

See, they get it, just spelled the name wrong!

The Top 10 NHL goals for 2005-2006

Well, we discussed at length the best goal last year. I guess Chub was the winner picking the Ovechkin goal - I was in the Malik and Spezza camp. Nevertheless, you can pick your favorite. Some have been posted already but this clip has all of them and adds the absurd Zherdev rush, Cammaleri's kneeler, and Datsyuk's preposterous shootout goal.
Link in the title.....enjoy.

Pics from the playoffs...# 2

The space-walk astronaut team of Chowdah, E5, and the Tripod had apparently never seen a camera before!

The Robbie Bina goal

Yes, that Robbie Bina. The North Dakota Defenseman who had his neck broken on a cheap shot from DU forward Geoff Paukovich. He is back on the ice playings and shows - against Minnesota, no less - that the Barry Melrose theory is alive and well - "There is no such thing as a bad shot on goal!"

Awards Ceremony 2007

The 2007 AC at the lovely Wynkoop Brewery. An early pic from our server Dee.
L-R: Ed, E5, Chub, NGS, Double Down, Bizz, Deanbag, Pimp, Chowdah, Tripod, Voe, and The Falcon!
Disclaimer: while Steamer team members are involved, these awards are not related to the Steamer hockey team. It is a moron-fest.

A group picture of the participants loaded with Jager and Castrol gear (Thanks Falcon).

The emcees of this year's event - the two honorable Senators from Minnesota.

Chub sporting his Chicken Little shirt and Disney backpack after winning the "Theme-itis award" - for lack of subtlety in CD theme.

Our Lord Father gives the "Say Anything" DVD to famous actor Samuel L. Jackson!

We miss Karl! Adam said if that ring wasn't in the picture he never would have known that Frank got married!

I guess Chub is the "box car" in this love train. He is holding the coveted Hanson "M-Bop" gold record trophy for best disc of the year. Ed delivers the "Bop" part of the trophy!

The Tripod and Double Down in a serious moment as "lifetime achievement award" winners.

The "Horse's Ass Trophy" - Frank was the run-away winner!

E5 wins the MVP trophy. I wonder how people will react to this passing of the torch?

And there you have it...

The slap-boxing contestants. Glasses flew and blood, along with a yellow card, was drawn.

A good time was had by all. Get those votes ready for next year.
