Fu Manch Sunday
The legendary day was celebrated in classic red-neck fashion....first with a short bench on the ice.
Then the perfect venue - a Chevy truck - for beers and beef jerky.
The pimp got a picture for the "alleged" sponsor who shockingly missed the event.
The semi-participants - some city-folk - fans of that damn book-learnin',
Goofy rednecks,
some scary hillbillies,
and of course the two Uncles your Mom warned you about - Chester the Molester and crazy Cletus!

Steamer action
This weekend we return to the Guardian of the Flame hockey tournament. And what is more special than skating in a charity tournament and raising money for kids with special needs?
And you know it's a special moment when your wap from Detroit and a mick from Boston start a fight during the games. Ahhh.......its for the kids!

There is love......

Dates.....
A great penalty?
There is such thing as a good penalty. And I suppose on rare occasion the coach might actually thank you. Well if that does occur, it definitely did after this penalty by Matt Hunwick of the Bruins. The NHL record-setting video is below.
More love for the Blue Devils?!?!
We already showed you E5 proudly sporting a Duke hockey jersey...and the love continues. During the NCAA lacrosse tournament the announcers typically spent a lot of time talking about Duke's two all-americans on Attack, Ned Crotty and Max Quinzani.
They mentioned that Crotty was a two-time all-State hockey player in New Jersey, won a player of the year award, and had recently been elected into the state's high school hockey hall of fame.
Quinzani, from Duxbury, MA - with 68 goals last season and 199 for his career, was also an excellent hockey player as he led his high school hockey team to a state title. More importantly, while at Duke he changed his number from # 16 to # 8 - because it was "more slimming" and because of his all-time favorite hockey player - who else but Cam Neely. Gotta love that guy!

Dates - Happy B-Day / Memorial Day
Clint Eastwood has a B-Day on Monday the 31st - which is Memorial Day. Thanks to all of those that have made the biggest sacrifice for our country and those that still serve.
And yes, Clint will be 80 and I'd bet my best hockey stick that he could still kick your ass!
Steamer season wrap-up
Well, the winter season was a tough one. Nevertheless, the Steam won a playoff game and was then knocked out in a loss to the # 1 seed in an 11-9 barn-burner.
The Prof had a great season and led the Steam in goals (17), Star of the game points (40) and tied for the points lead (21). A nice way to sail into marriage, where his scoring will inevitably decrease - HEY-OH! Trust us, we know!
Points: Prof and Harlan with 21; E5 with 14; Dr. Detroit with 11; and 5 guys with 6 (Chowdah, T-Pod, Sgt. Schultz, Howitzer and C-Webb).
Goals: Prof with 17; Harlan with 14; E5 and Dr. D with 6; Tripod with 4).
Helpers: E5 with 8; Harlan 7; Sarge 6; Dr. D, Howitzer and C-Webb with 5.
Star of the game points: Prof 40; Boris the goalie 29; Harlan 19; Dr. D 13; E5 with 11; C-Webb 10; Bada Bing 9; and Sarge with 8.5 or so.
Despite the tough season I think we did lead the league in suspensions and post-game beers. Nice!

The Top 20 Hockey Movies of All-Time - # 17
Coming in at # 17 is Strange Brew. This 1983 cult classic was about Bob and Doug McKenzie from "The Great White North." This was sort of the pre "Wayne's World" from the guys at Second City TV. It did use the word "hoser" a lot, prompted a song with Geddy Lee of Rush, glorified drinking beer, and used the famous hockey phrase "That was no goal, them guys was in the crease." Not a great movie, but good for its time, and appropriate for this list.

A new wave sweeping the hockey world!
I have heard Jack Edwards refer to protecting the puck with the legs and the stick at the same time as A-Framing. Only recently, as The Professor pointed out, play-by-play man Doc Emrick referred to this brilliant puck possession strategy as........wait for it.........TRIPOD-ing.
It is nice to see the skaters who have championed this art form start to get some credit. To further this noble cause some companies are selling a training apparatus to perfect this skill. They call it the "Attack Triangle." Beware!
