The Tournament starts tomorrow (oh, today). Our beloved DU Pioneers go in as a # 1 seed and face the Miami Redhawks - Friday March 27th at 3: 30 PM MST. Here is a link with the bracket and a link with the TV schedule.
Remember, playing hockey, watching hockey, and drinking beer makes you a better person. Especially if you can combine those last two. At least that is what Sean Connery says......

NHL 08-09 goal of the year - candidate # 7
I wish I had a better clip of this. If you see it from behind the net, you will appreciate it much more. Regardless, American-born, Defenseman, Joe Corvo scored this bonanza of an overtime winner.
Straight freakin'!
Here is a beauty of a tirade from the goal tender of the future for the Bruins. Providence appears to get jobbed in a shootout and Tuukka Rask goes crazy!

NHL save of the year?
Whoa Nellie! I hate to see people not scoring, but if you have to rob a guy, he might as well be a former member of the Fighting Sue!
Marty Turco with this preposterous save!

# 9 - O'Byrne with a nice pass to.......uh-oh! I imagine O'Byrne had a similar look to this when he "folded one into" his own net. See the classic moment here.
NHL 08-09 goal of the year - candidate # 6
Well, I hate to give props to a former member of the Fighting Sue, but this goal from Drew Stafford of the Sabres was a doozy.
Book Review - Jonesy
I know, ANOTHER book review. Wow! Read this one last summer while I was in Boston. I was intrigued by the book as it was about a former AVS player, # 11 Keith Jones, who was a real fan favorite at "The Camp." He only played about 100 games for the AVS, but the book was also written by ESPN analyst John Buccigross (you may have seen him plug it in his column) - who is a huge hockey fan with great perspective for the game.
I liked the book. There were some grammatical errors and that sends a freak like me over the edge - but was a good read. Lots of interesting anecdotes from Jones and an interesting perspective from a "grinder." Probably the most shocking theme throughout the book was hoe Jones basically did no conditioning or weight training during his entire junior, college, and NHL career. That was truly amazing.
So, in conclusion - good read, worth checking out for hockey fans.
